Odd conditions Monday night.  Very choppy propagation, here at home and using various Global Tuners remotes.  Really shows up the differences in AGC design among various receivers.

And there has been a lot of QRM from 6900-7000.  Besides the usual pescadore jibber jabber there's been some wideband data signals from utility stations.  The utes seem stronger in Europe, comparing with online tuners, but are still audible here in the U.S.

There was a large auroral event last night. The sky was blood red here before the fog rolled in around 11 pm. I noticed the FM band acting wacky at roughly 4pm., many local stations were weak.

Folks were seeing the aurora as far south as north Georgia and Alabama.

Apparently that auroral event was visible here in parts of rural Texas too.  The local weather report late last night showed a photo of a blood red sky with that unique auroral pattern, taken in Bowie, Texas, north of here.  In many years of skywatching when I lived in a rural area I never saw that, and missed it again last night.   >:(
