Title: Firedrake 9680 kHz 1330 UTC 18 MAY 2019
Post by: MDK2 on May 18, 2019, 1358 UTC
Very strong signal, and noteworthy because CNR1 is usually present on this frequency instead to jam Radio Taiwan International. Besides the difference in choice of jammers, it's also interesting to find the Firedrake jamming something that's not Radio Free Asia. Nearly every other copy I've made has been against RFA while CNR1 seems to be preferred for nearly every other signal China wishes to block.

Also interesting - when it signed off at 1400, there was a brief YL voice as if they had momentarily switched to CNR1 before ending transmission. Not sure if that's what it was since I don't know a word of Mandarin, but that's another first for me with Firedrake listening.

Nice catch, MDK2.  I was under the impression that the Chinese stopped using the Firedrake audio loop for jamming and switched over to using the CNR1 audio instead.
