Truly a shame this is occurring. The new President of Quinnipiac University (Hamden, CT) is pulling the plug on this local format, oldies station for financial and “educational relevant” reasons at 2200 utc 31 May 2019.
At home, I am at the fringe of their daytime coverage. If anyone wants to listen from afar, they have an online presence. Since Monday, their morning broadcast has been syndicated. Among the things I will miss the most is Pam Landry’s 2pm (or so) playing of a pair of Beatles’ songs with a story behind each, usually date related. Sigh 😔...........

1607 Pam Landry opens with thoughts, appreciation for Quinnipiac’s 22 year backing, thanks to listeners and advertisers, and promises not to make it a sad day to “American Pie” Don McLean
1807 A quartet for the final “Beatles Break” The Long and Winding Road, Hello Goodbye, Here Comes the Sun, and You Won’t See Me.
1856 Landry’s final play “I Loved These Days”. Billy Joel
2200 Brian Smith plays "Happy Trails to You" Roy Rogers/Dale Evans......"We are WQUN, Hamden, Connecticut, USA". .....off

Hopefully she won't be kicked off the air of the school radio station for playing Black Flag's I Don't Care like someone I know.

Boys will be boys....obviously a principal with no sense of humor, like Bueller's principal.
