Title: BBC Liverpool/COYS Champions League Final 15400 am 1639 utc 1 Jun 2019
Post by: Ct Yankee on June 01, 2019, 1643 UTC
Very Good Reception, PL-880 with its wire...I expect to have to change frequency to keep listening.  Match kickoff between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs is 1900.  (Oh yes, COYS = Come On You Spurs)

1639 Pre-match build up by 2 OM's including replay of Milner's goal sending Liverpool through past Barcelona.
1645 2 OM's recounting how dramatic both semifinal matches were and a pair of English teams emerged.  Audio clips of Spurs 2nd leg win over Ajax.
1700 News including Virginia Beach shootings
1708 Sportsworld gives way to current events programming
Now 13660 & 15400
1813 2OM's with Africa-centric program
1834 Pre-match coverage. YL "Champions League Final Live on the BBC World Service"
1857 "Live coverage coming up.  The Champions League anthem plays.  Here's the news (at :58)"
1900 OM giving starting XI's, moment of Silence for 35 year old Sanchez who passed today (part of Arsenal's Invincibles)
1903 Kick off.  Handball called on Spurs, PK to be taken by Saleh.  He scores 0-1 Liverpool.  (Ugh!  :-[.  End of play by play recording.  Only frequency changes and goals)
1959 BBC off 13660 & 15400, poor reception on 12095
2014 Reception up to fair. "He plays the ball off to Saleh"

I tried every listed BBC frequency at 1900 UTC, and didn't have as much as a carrier on even one. I ended up watching the match on Univision.

Our fairy tale run ended with the pumpkin, not the carriage. Here's hoping the reports of the big big money clubs changing the UEFA Champions League format to prevent such a run prove to be false.
