I think the presenter was Steve Samson during the time you were listening.

He was clearly in high spirits.

One of the tracks he played was China Grove by The Doobie Brothers. 

Great modulation and good band conditions, but the signal faded out after about 30 minutes of listening via a UK SDR. SIO 454 at best.

I guess the skip was lengthening.
