A chaotic scene at Yale Bowl

1900 Yale play by play OM "An embarrassment to Yale University, poor security". OM concerned that a lengthy delay may cause game to be halted due to darkness. No lights a Yale Bowl, sunset is 2125 utc here today. Police rushing field.
1925 "Probably the most embarrassing incident in 105 year history of Yale Bowl."
1936 OM complaining you get stopped around Bowl if you have wrong media pass but hundreds on field.  OM believes game will be delayed another 20 minutes, total would be over an hour.

I hope the climate protestors are released in time to catch their flights home to their families for Thanksgiving.

Who left a stuffed Yale skunk on my mantle piece?

I smell something bad lingering in the air that I suspect is from those scamps from upon the hill at Cornell

Hmmmmmm......and Yale Bowl was just fitted with artificial turf for the first time in its 105 year history, maybe they felt the turf was emitting gases rather than absorbing them.

If the protestors were eating a lot of beans, they might be the gas emitters  :)

2124 Surprisingly, Yale ties game in final 20 seconds.  Overtime will start right at sunset due to earlier protest, no lights in Bowl.  I'm guessing all arrested protestors were immediately released and fed because The People's Republic of New Haven is a Sanctuary City.

2128 Game is still going on, I am about 10 miles east (and 15 miles north) of New Haven.  My driveway is 150 feet long, darkness is preventing me from seeing the end of it.

"Overtime will start right at sunset due to earlier protest, no lights in Bowl."

Fun.. the game in the dark. If anyone gets hurt, will the protesters help fund their medical bills due to the delay that they caused?

Seeing that the fans & students of these schools traditionally shouted at each other, "What makes the grass grow?" answered with "Blood! Blood!", from the beginning of the series until Pearl Harbor, a few minutes of rolling around in mud and the dark won't hurt them.

Good thing the game was not scheduled for today. Imagine the bitching if it had been delayed by rain!    8)

As long as there is no lightning reported in the region, it's play on.

A football game in pouring rain on artificial turf is about as much fun as it gets for the players. Lot's of belly flopping and sliding for yards and the ball is nearly impossible to hang on to. Adventure football.
