Title: LZ1AQ amplifier kit
Post by: Matt285 on December 24, 2019, 1605 UTC
Is anyone familiar with the LZ1AQ amplifier kit? If so please provide the antenna construction you are using to utilize the amplifier.

I used one for a while in the Cross Parallel Loop configuration, which IMHO is the best way to use it.  Search here on the HFU for details as well as links to my blog posts about it.

Could you touch a bit on the construction and wiring of the control box. Is the Cat5 or Ethernet cable used for control and feedline or is there a separate coax for that? Thanks. As stated in the other forum I had been waiting to try out the MLA-30, but maybe I should save a bit more for the LZ1AQ setup instead.

The CAT-5 cable is power, control, and the return signal. No coax is used.

I suspect a properly constructed LZ1AQ based loop antenna will be significantly superior to a MLA-30.
