9460 KHZ. @ 12:23 UTC in voice synthesized English. World weather and news:
12:24. Features on Thailand
12:28: Power loses due to storms in New South Wales
12:29: Increased Sulfur dioxide in atmospheric measurements in Hu Nan. Story featured COVID death rates
stating the numbers are greatly minimized
12:31. North Atlantic weather alerts re: UK and Scotland with possible 60 mph gusts.
Seemed to be a replay of an earlier recording. Entire. broadcast was consistently disparaging of the China main media line. Heavy focus on climate change, environmental damage, etc, Very GREENPEACE type approach to the news items.
SINPO: 4-5-4-4-4+. Very strong signal with infrequent and minimal fading
Had to shut it down at 12:39 so couldn't pick up anyID.
What is this?

Seems doubtful. The narrative was consistently Anti-China and no way the ChiComms @ CRI were going to allow that. There IS an English broadcast on 9460 of THAZIN RADIO out of Myanmar but that runs 0630 to 0800 UTC so the timing doesn't match up. That seems somewhat of a stretch anyway as its only 50 kw and I've never gotten a whiff of that station before. Is it possible that this was WYFR broadcasting 5 khz off their scheduled 9455 khz? I locked the broadcast in on both the FRG 7700 and Icom R75 with the narrow filter @ 9460, not 9455. And what's with the voice synthesis? "Curiouser and Curiouser"..........

Believe I heard the program you described from the 1800-2000 utc time frame on March 18 on 7490. Pretty odd. At 1900 utc, there was a WBCQ ID, nothing else given for the program. WBCQ lists the 1800-1900 utc hour on Wednesday as the Overcomer, nothing for 1900-2000. The program broadcasts dire news but if news datelines given in the broadcasts are correct, the stories are over a month old. The reports of the Covid-19 situation are timely to over a month ago.
