Hi,
I'm new here. Also a fairly new SWLer. The pirate broadcasts on 6.925 USB caught my attention, and here I am.
For casual SWLing, I have a couple Zenith TOs - an H500 and a Royal 7000-1. Just fine for RHC, RCI, RNZI, etc. For the harder stuff I use a Ten Tec Jupiter and a ground mounted vertical with lots of radials stapled in the yard. Am working on getting a dipole up in the next couple months.
I also like to build stuff and melt solder.

Welcome aboard Catherwood . The pirate radio dx'ing is a lot of fun . Sounds like you are well equipped to reel in the big fish and the small ones. It will be great to see what makes it into your part of the world where ever that is. We have a lot of fun here ,and you kinda get use to Fansome. ;D

I kinda like Fansome's postings. Still don't know who Tony T-O-N-Y Straka S-T-R-A-K-A is.

Thanks for the welcome!
I'm in the middle of flyover country, about as central as one can get in the continental US.
Haven't been chasing pirates for long enough to really get a bead on who I hear the best under what kinds of prop, so I'm looking forward to comparing notes as well. Best pirate sig I ever heard here was Under Cover Radio a couple weeks ago. WBNY is usually at my noise level and have never really heard them well enough to enjoy the show. Sometimes I hear Wolverine well, and sometimes I hear GaGa okay. We'll just have to see what I get now that I'm paying attention.

Loudest by far here in central Illinois has been Wolverine Radio. With a name like that, you'd think they would be in Michigan. ;D
Other stations generally loud here are Radio Ga Ga, Radio Casablanca, Radio Ronin Shortwave. I haven't heard Undercover Radio in some time but they used to be loud here. Also Northwoods Radio used to be loud but haven't heard them in a while either.
WBNY, Radio Free Euphoria and Sycko Radio are OK but can be on the weak side here. Recent transmissions by Radio Free Euphoria have been received pretty well here.
WBOG was rather weak tonight. We're having a solar storm now so I'd like to see how they are when conditions are better.
