Oft have been the times, usually at greyline, when hip hop/rap blared out from the glorious Buick speakers as I rolled (and I assure you they see me rolling, they hatin) along, expecting to hear nothing but powerhouse WHO on 1040, not rap. I finally got around to finding out where the wrap music came from and apparently a fm sta has an am component, an am hip hop/wrap music format. In Colorado.

Sat afternoon, just at greyline as the sun was still setting, caught a few mins of an Asian lang, monosyllabic so presumed Chinese. Don't recall ever hearing Chinese or any Asian on 1040, but there it was.

KXPD-AM 1040kHz was sold in December 2019 and changed its current format to Russian programming
