This is sort of weird.
The French intelligence agency's station, normally sends 4 or 5-letter encoded groups (as I remember it). This time they were sending s-l-o-w speed, IN THE CLEAR, normal French. Slow enough that I could copy it easily (except for the diacritical marks: é, è, ç, and the like). Turned on the CW decoder for a record of it and it indicated 7-8 WPM. It turns out that the decoder had the same trouble with the diacritical marks.
Transmission finished by 0733 UTC.

Hi there.
This is NOT French Intelligence... ;D

This is NOT French Intelligence... ;D
Can you elaborate?
FAV22 = DGSE: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Directorate-General_for_External_Security (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Directorate-General_for_External_Security)

I think FAV22 is the French Military morse training facility - which would probably explain the slow speed and clear text.
There is some info here ... http://www.numbersoddities.nl/M51-profile.pdf
Your logging would match the noted Sunday schedule (assuming document still up to date).

Ok. Understand now. Thanks for the help, both of you.
FAV22 is a French Army transmitter in the service of the French Amateur Radio Union for teaching morse.

CJ468 is correct - nothing more to say.
The French DGSE was known with its imaginary call 8BY (Enigma Designator M16).
Kind regards.
