I was just tuning around and found on 4725 khz a station, listened a while and an announcement said it was kiss FM. I retuned to the FM frequency 97.2 MHz for the station and found its the same music playing. Is someone rebroadcasting kiss on hf, or is this interference or something? Excuse me if this is common, I'm new to SWL, seems odd

Nothing here on 4725.
Is this the same music with or without a delay ?
-
Pretty much in real time as far as I can see same song was playing when I changed to fm
-
Maybe you can take a small FM receiver near your SW receiver, to listen to both at the same time. If a song ends or begins just at the same time on both receivers, then it is quite likely a problem in the SW receiver. What type of SW receiver ?
-
It's a tecsun pl660, I'll give it a go and let you know what happens.
-
Annoyingly the signal in SW has disappeared now. If it is the radio would it just be where it's picking up the strong FM signal? I'm not near a transmitter though, could it be someone testing their sw transmitter?
-
Just put the second receiver a few meters away, cause that could change how your Tecsun sees the FM signal. The most probable is some image frequency problem. I had that once on low SW frequencies, from a local FM transmitter.

I can hear people talking on 4437 khz usb sounds Italian voices, off topic I know, can you hear them? What is it?
-
I gave a try on 4437 USB, nothing, but it could be maritime or airways traffic, I don't know. Off topic here.
Be back on topic: try 5140 kHz, you should find Charleston Radio Int., sounding like radios from the 1930s !

Got it excellent. This radio malarkey is addictive!
