I was wondering, are there any groups who try to get old CB friends back together? I was recently thinking about my CB days back in the late 70s and early 80s in SoCal, when I had a huge, adoring crowd of young women who hung on every word that I broadcast. When I think of how bereft they must feel after all of these years, I feel compelled to try to comfort them again.

I must admit I'm occasionally tempted to do a radio czech in West, Texas (http://www.czechstop.net/home.php).

Oh, ok; I'm sorry for being so over the top.
I had a great time talking on the CB back then, and made a lot of friends. Then, the fad ended, and we all went our separate ways. I've often wondered where these folks ended up. I think it would be interesting for someone to set up a CB handle clearinghouse. It might even make a little money

the fad ended, i have heard a op on the west coast that runs on superbowl that can also be heard on 40 meters at the same time :o

Interesting topic!
CB has gone and died in my radio absense for ~20 years. Unfortunately, I found that many of my old mates did too :(
Some are still around, ones that I made real close friends of and one went on to be a professional broadcaster for a while before becoming a Mountie.
I have CB to thank for some of the best times of my youth ;D
Peace!

CB is still pretty popular in my region (Texas), especially 27025 and the freebanders, mostly Spanish language. Occasionally I'll hear some DX contacts there. Never really got into it myself, although I kept one in the vehicle for emergencies.
