Title: A nice day for mid September...
Post by: ChrisSmolinski on September 10, 2020, 1536 UTC
If you like it cooler than average and don't mind some drizzle. 73F here with 0.04" of rain so far today, the NWS forecast high is 82F but I am not sure that's going to happen.

We have peeks of sun in the valley and got 1.27 overnight.  The first real rain for the  month and very welcome.  Hopefully I won't get banned here for saying I like rain on my first post.

A had a brief downpour an hour ago that brought the daily total up to 0.17". I see some more bands forming, they may pass to my south though, we'll see.

Rain here today, too - over a half inch and due to pour all night.  Hartford recorded its most days in the 90's for the period from June through August and its driest for the same period.  Being a little south of there, and more rural/closer to the Sound, my qth had a few less days in the 90's and a bit more rain.  We saw 86 here yesterday which will probably be our last reading in the 80's until late next May, mid 40's overnight this weekend.

I heard reports of 5 to 6 inches of rain here Monday. I pumped 1 to 2 inches of ground water out of my basement Tuesday. Say what you want but I've never had any issues with snow in my basement.
