Radio Netherlands English service will be closing down on June 29, information on their website. There will be a special programme on their final day and memories are invited. Andy Sennitt has said on Facebook and Digital Spy that some additional shortwave frequencies are planned and will be announced shortly. http://www.rnw.nl/english/article/were-changing

RCI and Radio Nederlands >:(
And the ripple effect starts. Vatican Radio will close it's Santa Maria di Galeria site on July 1. (http://swldxbulgaria.blogspot.ca/2012/06/vatican-radio-new-communications.html)
I wonder how much influence the closing of RN's Dutch and English service had, since RN used the Vatican txs (not sure if RCI did).
With the way international broadcasters are interconnected these days, I wonder who else will be calling it quits, and if the ripple turns into a wave?
