Faint SS music. Not sure who this is, it seems a little early for Radio Celestial from NYC.

I had something there Friday night on the car radio around 3 utc. A bit of unid music popped above the noise once or twice. I have no idea who it was.

I had some some work on the sky loop antenna, and was checking around various bands, to make sure I didn't break anything. I was pretty surprised to hear a pirate on 1710 at 11 AM in June. It could have been religious Spanish music, hard to tell. I went to the Celestial website, and it played what appeared to be streaming audio, that did not sound like what I was hearing. So I still don't know who it was. On 1710 right now (1300z) i'm hearing some faint audio, sounds like it could be a TIS.

Chris you're aware of the TIS in NJ on 1710? Strange for 11/am

Yes, that's a semi regular at night.
I've got something on 1710 again, 1144z. Very tough to copy, sounds like SS music now. Oh, and there's a TIS mixing in as well. Interesting. I'll have to continue listening.
OK, mentions of Bergen county now, so this is quite likely the NJ TIS WQFG689.
It's interesting that they got a special waiver from the FCC to use 1710: https://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsEntry/attachments/attachmentViewRD.jsp?applType=search&fileKey=1688691106&attachmentKey=18531005&attachmentInd=licAttach (https://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsEntry/attachments/attachmentViewRD.jsp?applType=search&fileKey=1688691106&attachmentKey=18531005&attachmentInd=licAttach)
I'm quite amazed to get this during the daytime, in June. In December, sure, but June? Interesting DX.
Still no idea what the other station is, other than most likely a pirate. If I'm hearing a 10 watt TIS from norther NJ, it's entirely possible I'm also hearing Radio Celestial from NYC.

Strange last night. Around 0500 early morning I was hearing 1710 Celestial Radio strong with a max peak of S15. Very strange in that I do not recall ever hearing them that strong into my area. Scanning around the BCB quickly last night was showing a truck-load of stations though I made no effort to DX any. Must be related to the recent solar flare. Plus noise levels were actually low which again is strange for this time of the year.
