Now you can join in the #pirateradio IRC chat from the HFU.
Registered users will see the link "Try the #pirateradio IRC chat" to the right of their user name, when logged in. Clicking on this link will open an IRC chat in another window (you can control click on it to select opening in a new tab, if you prefer). This will take you directly to the #pirateradio IRC channel, where you can chat with other pirate radio enthusiasts, see what is being heard, share your loggings, and otherwise contribute to the destruction of pirate radio.
Remember that your IP address is not masked. Operators may not wish to log on with their station or announcer name. Of course if you log on with an unrelated name (you can change your IRC nickname after clicking on the link but before actually connecting to IRC) then we'll have no idea who you are.

...then we'll have no idea who you are.
Except Admins who can is they wish, correlate IP's from the forum :P
Also, why this forum not use SSL? Even self-signed?
Just a concern...
Peace!

There are a few privacy tricks that work on Starchat. Technically they're in violation of Starchat policy and we're guests on their property, so it's best to discuss these privately with a regular on that IRC channel. ;)

Tested this out and it actually works fantastic, just as good as a real IRC client. Nice stuff. Thanks for adding a new feature to HFU!
