Post by: Ron - Calif. on May 10, 2021, 1838 UTC

VANUATU. Radio Vanuatu, recently have not heard them on 7260, at 0559*, nor on 3945 (7890H // 11835H)
at *0559 UT.

May 10, again no RV signal on 7260, at 0559*, nor on 3945 (7890H // 11835H) at *0559 UT.

At 0637 UT, noted an UNID on 5040 kHz. with a very poor signal; 0650, dramatic, sudden improvement in
reception (transmitter adjusted?); 0655, IDs for both "Radio Vanuatu" and "Voice of Papua New Guinea";
cut off 0659*. On 7890 (harmonic), found a new starting time of *0659 UT; from 0704 to 0728, news/
sports in Bislama; approaching fair reception; 11835 harmonic covered by CNR2 and 3945, not heard.

Bryan Clark (New Zealand) kindly checked for the new Radio Vanuatu schedule. His reply on May 10:

"Yes, listening here in Mangawhai - 3945 closed at 2059:30 and 5040 opened at 2059:34 [UTC] - decent carrier
but poor audio given the daylight signal path."

Thanks to Bryan for updating the new schedule.

Of course for those of us in NoAm, we have to contend with a strong Cuba on 5040 most of the time.
