Title: Beacon fun tonight AA0RQ/b 10133.56 kHz
Post by: Greenfroggy on September 30, 2012, 0137 UTC
I have the AA0RQ/b cranked down to around 40-50m=Mw ,
if you enjoy a challenge and like to listen for weak signals, have at it.

Terrible band for me at my QTH, but will listen :)

Peace!

I'll give a listen, usually hear FSK or Rtty at that part of the 30 meter band, though.

Do you run the beacon often?

I gave a listen for your beacon.

Heard the 'A0R' part of it, also the '/b' and what seemed to be a 'CO' there afterwards, but never could get a full ID.  Very weak, and there was a lot of fading.

I also had some local QRM, probably from a neighbor's TV, and a little bit from some RTTY a few khz lower in the band.  The signal came in well on my Panasonic RFB45 and random wire.

Seemed to disappear abruptly some time between 0141 and 0210 UTC this evening (Oct 1st).

Heard the beacon again this evening, a bit clearer but the QSB keeps me from getting the entire ID.  But it's making it to the NW.

Try for it around 1200-1300 Utc , dawn enhancement..
It has been running at about 200Mw of recent.
Tree limbs that were starting to interfere with its performance
have been removed.  I have received many SWL cards  this summer.
