Title: An Intel PC Stick? Think ultimate computer SDR portability here!
Post by: ThaDood on June 28, 2021, 1835 UTC
Yeah... Not really radio related here, or could it be made to be? https://www.amazon.com/Windows-Computer-Support-Bluetooth-AIOEXPC/dp/B08TVM3M3B  Gotta' thank Rob, W8XRW for bring this to my attention. Heś using his for Yaesu C4FM Fusion WIRES-X. However, I could see using this PC Stick as an ultimate portable PC SDR. This would easily replace the Acer Netbook, with Intel Atom, from 2009, that I use to program most of my two-way rigs. So, possibilities here could be endless.

The Atom based sticks don't have the horsepower. The i3 Intel sticks do. Unfortunately, the Intel sticks with anything above Atom use a micro fan that runs continuously.

I can attest that the Azulle brand PC sticks running Win10 Pro, 32 bit, are very good for single purpose use, like decoding ACARS, SafetyNet, FleetNet, and ADS-B, since the signals are narrowband and defined. Stick a RTL-SDR on it and go.
