This could be interesting. https://www.fema.gov/event/ipaws-national-test Word on da' street also has it that cell phones and even another test of an internet kill-switch might happen then. Hmmmmmm... Could be interesting to listen for.

FEMA and FCC will be testing both the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) at 2:20 pm ET on Wednesday 11 August.
The EAS portion of the test will be sent to radios and televisions. This will be the sixth nationwide EAS test.
The WEA portion of the test will be directed only to consumer cell phones where the subscriber has opted-in to receive test messages. This will be the second nationwide WEA test, but the first nationwide WEA test on a consumer opt-in basis.
Good times!

Huh??? I heard that test over commercial radio EAS, but nothing came up on NOAA 162MHz Weather Radio. It was my understanding that any national tests were to also go over that. Just, an observation.

Any of the FEMA tests will come over IPAWS, which the weather service does not carry.
