Apparently the mid-week strong geomagnetic storm continues to affect the LW band.
Was able to log only 4 Canadian beacons from 325 to 400 this morning. Normally a dozen or more are
easily heard here in that band segment.
OTOH, propagation to the south was fairly good with DIW, JA, and DDP all heard here with strong signals this morning.

Hey pinto,
I am not up on LW right now, but FWIW DID notice that prop on MW was also down .Lots of things that "should" have been there weren't.

NQC,
tnx for the observation, didn't even bother to check the AM band but probably should have
for propagation to the south (Cuba, Mexico)

Hey Pinto,
I thought about your LW beacon activities and gave a scan on the ATS 803a on it's ferrite.
Nada, not a one :-[.
"Maybe", something after new indoor antenna is built ::).

Any portable on its ferrite alone is going to have a tough time hearing any beacons unless they are very nearby.
You would have to find a way to inductively couple a wire antenna to the ferrite in your 803 to have a chance at hearing LW beacons.

NQC,
Couldn't find any NDBs located at Boston Logan but you may want to try for 389 PVC at Provincetown or 397 OW at Norwood.
