Title: Christmas 10M conditions
Post by: Elf36 on December 25, 2021, 1533 UTC
All done with the kid's stuff and food for now. Figured I turn on the rig. Lots of stations on 27.385 from all over, including Nova Scotia and Arizona @ 15:30. Conditions are very up and down though. One min you'll hear 10 stations and the next min, it will be silent for 2/3 mins. I have yet to make a contact.

Just worked Arizona on 27385L at 1554z using the freshly built 11m rotatable dipole. Have the dipole vaguely NNW/SSE.

Elf, your right about propagation. It is quite variable.

Worked a couple of ops in North Carolina on 27385L.

Back on the vertical for awhile. Think that was Idaho I worked on 27375L at 1742z.

Good deal. I'd like to have a directional antenna for 10/11M. A tribander would be even better! One of these days it will happen.

Worked a few more contacts later yesterday, including IIRC, at least one via AM.

In particular, I had a decent conduit into Arizona.

I've been awake since 5 am and heard some faint stations around 6:30 (11:30) on 27.385. Just came back to 27.385 after some SWL (12:35) Not hearing anything. Hopefully, the band will wake up in a bit.
