Nice to hear some NAVTEX while it is still afternoon, and some foreign language (French in this case) activity on 490 kHz. Not 100% copy, but it is still the afternoon.

How well does it do during the night?

Haven't tried 490 here yet. Been busy with 518 and also waiting some nights for some local QRM to get out of here.
