Title: UnID 6940 340utc 1/1/13 undercover radio later id

340utc  signal 5 fading to 1 and back in huntington wv
heard weird space age music with some voice mixed in.  Couldnt tell what wad said
343utc  selector is on, channel is centered.
Lost signal 345utc

heard at 3:40z while outdoors away from streetlights & house. used grundig g3 with whip extended. "you're connectors are on...you're frequency is centered" @ 3:42z with spacey music. tried synch detector ( not very good on g3 IMHO)  low whiney het ...unable to lock. excellent in AM though.

copying fair signal back in house. still hearing the same spacey music at 3:58z.

It was 1976 when i first turned on a pirate transmitter..sounds like a carreer story but fading
Telling specs on his first setup and record player.
Smoked the equipment and ripped plug out of the wall that ended his pirate radio for years to come.

Had a poor copy in AM, thought they were gone. Back in SSB with slightly better copy. Tough copy at about S-2 over S-1 noise.

This is a great show!!  I love his stories.. The dipole on the apartment roof was exciting.
Then audio from a kenwood car audio deck gave 25 watts carrier to is xmitter

After he cranked up the mime gain, it got really bad,like over driving.  I emailed him and it cleared up

Good levels here, some fading and noise blanketing his background music, but overall distinctive audio punching thru on the east coast.
