And discuss the subjects posted on this site? Just wondering.

There was a Saturday morning net on 40 meters devoted to pirate radio for years. The internet killed it about '02.
You could always count on Jimmy The Weasel breaking in several times with a song or two.
-
I used to talk Pirate stuff with hams, even mentioned it on my QRZ.com bio. The bunneh bunch took that as proof that I must be a well known Pirate relay service and set out to destroy me. They devoted an astonishing amount of effort to it and are still poking around webpages and facebook accounts. So now I'm more careful who I talk to.
-
Anybody interested in starting up an informal net again?

How about trying 18.165 2300z Sundays?
There's no contesting allowed on 17m so it should be quiet.
-
I'll show up...17 has been in pretty good shape lately.

Sweet I'll send a message to the Admin to see if they'll help promote it .
-
Ok, 18.165 is being used...I'm on 160 listening. Seems there may be someone on 160 too...I'll look around the band a bit, seems a bit crowded at the moment.
I'm just listening to some ESSB guys on 18.133..gotta love kenwood's transmit audio.
Edit: Wife's calling, dinner time...Maybe another time..

Listening on 18.137 - W8GTX
-
I moved over to 14.325 is anyone is interested
-
Ok, dinner is over, are you still there? Not hearing much on 14.325, cept some qso's in the distance.
Edit 2355: Ima look around on 40, see how it's holding up...I'll keep checking this thread.

20 starting to get weaker here. I'm listening on 7.249 now.
-
nevermind, try another. Tight band on 40 tonight especially with the guys feeling the need to operate up to 6/KHz wide
-
Hmm...80? How bout say 3830?
Eh, band's kind of noisy, almost s20 static level. Storms rolling through the area. I'll make a couple of calls.
Edit: 0022z; don't know if my 100 watts is going to make it with the noise level.
0036z: Ok, maybe another time...Pulling the plug for the evening. Have a good evening, everyone.

Sorry Steve didn't see this until now. Yes we'll try another time. Weekends are best for me.
-
Anybody want to try Sunday afternoon? Anywhere on 15-17-20 is OK by me. No big contests this weekend so there should be a clear freq no problem.
-
My antenna doesn't like 15 much, 20 gets pretty busy, how bout 17, or possibly 40?
Steve
-
Yup, I can do 17 late afternoon or 40 early evening. I have to work in the early afternoon but I can be on any freq and time after 2200GMT. Just let me know where when and I'll be there. I'm VE8NSD.
-
Cool, I'm up for a try...Maybe hit up this thread when you get home and we'll go from there.

-
OK. I'll drop by here around 2200GMT tomorrow. Anyone else is welcome as well.

Anyone around? I'll try 18.162 or take a few kc. in case freq in use.
-
Workin' Alaska. Not sure if I have prop to the lower 48.
-
Ok, 17 seems quiet...a little dx in there though. Puerto Rico calling cq on 18.163, but the band is dying a slow, painful death, LOL. I'll listen for a call around 7.163.
Kb8viv
-
OK, I'll call .163
-
Eh, not hearing anything. I'm desmoface on aim, if your on that. We could try 80, but not likely that we'd have propagation that far out. 3645?
kb8viv
-
Ok, one last shot, I'll listen on 14.340 for you.

This could be fun. I don't know about 17 meters though; I might not be able to copy all the stations who participate. 80m might work if it's later in the day/evening. But I'm up for trying!
-
I'm good for whatever freq, depending on where everyone is located, 40 could possibly work.
