Title: Monday morning beacon report 7 Jan 2013
Post by: ChrisSmolinski on January 07, 2013, 1335 UTC
I'm finally hearing some beacons!
Mostly logged around 1130-1150z:
2097 A
4079.5 TMP36
4094.5 X
4102.3 W - tentative, I am pretty sure I heard the W call a few times, but didn't hear any dits. Perhaps it is not that windy this morning.

Question, Chris: Is it best to use a CW mode on your receiver (if you have one) for catching beacons?

Yes, I try to do that, and use as narrow of a IF bandwidth as possible. Although that can be tricky, as these beacons often drift. I'll start with a wider bandwidth, then if I hear something, center it, and narrow the bandwidth.
