Cruising thru the MW freqs a couple nites ago on the 990X /whip was very surprised to pull in a 10 K-watter CKOM, 1065 miles from my QTH at 05:07 UTC (23:07 local). They were giving news feature story on a tragedy in Nova Scotia. Initially a solid signal for about 5 minutes then gradual QSB to nil x 15:15.
Apologies for the late post - sometime life just insists on getting in the way.

Good catch, Don... they send most of their power to the North and WSM dominates 650 all night
so good work pulling the Canadian out of the ether. :)
