I always thought it was strange John Hughes used "Pretty in Pink" as the title song for a movie about girl coming of age, when it's a song about a gang rape. I went to college with his sister for couple of semesters. Her answer was, "He's a weirdo."

I did not get a chance to listen while this was on air, but I did make a recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OarQwY5ayQ

Elvis and the lads with help from Nick Lowe got Mick Jones stoned in his early Clash days and hoodwinked him into playing on "Lover's Rock" as an unknown. Jones had loaned one of the Stiff guy's a guitar and "happened" to stop by that afternoon to pick it up.
That gang at Stiff Records was a tricky bunch. Playing "Spot Nick Lowe" in those early Rockpile vids was always a hoot until it became obvious he was the tall one. Nick was signed with another label as a performer and as a producer with Stiff.
