A gorgeous signal from RTZ today at around S9 and VG audio. One of my perennial fave stations.
2009 Rumba/Taraab blend sounds pretty neat
2020 YL tx in SW; sev ments Dar (es Salaam); thought I heard an EE T/C in there
2024 back to the mx; another rumba/Taraab hybrid; nice guitar as the response instrument; OM/YL vocal duet kinda unique
2040 More YL gab, sev ments Dar
2044 Back to the mx
2059 song over, quick YL tx, pull the plug, and go home

A very nice S9+5 signal today with a block of soukous at 1930z
1959 Pips, into YL talk
2009 Back to soukous with a Congo/Tanz flavor
2059 off after some nifty sound FX - kind of an unusual departure from the norm
-
Around S8 here with YL talking.

Really nice signal today, with a variety of music. I know they QSLed a lot back around 1999-2001, but anyone know if they still do?
-
Dunno, but have their mail & email address in the 2013 WRTH. Can post it if you want it.

Haven't seen one reported in NASWA in a long time. I got mine in the early 1990s I think! In his reply he asked for a pair of running shoes!

Well, I checked my QSL log, and I see 3 reports out in the 80's and 90's, sev followups, and nothing to show for it. I do not QSL SWBC anymore; I am cured of that, I hope.
At least here, there is indication of a veri as late as '06... http://www.schoechi.de/af-tza.html
Hope you get one, Andy!

Thanks Joe, Chris, & Skeezix. We'll see if I can come up with anything. Had a bunch of nice, clean "Spice FM" IDs at the end. From searching around, it appears that "Spice FM" is a popular slogan for stations in the Middle East. I was thinking that I might be better off contacting Spice FM directly, but we'll see.
Yeah, I don't do a lot of SWBC QSLing, but I occasionally try for one. I've probably only QSLed about 80 or so NASWA countries.
Chris: I guess he might've gotten his shoes if he'd've sent the request to you without the QSL :)

Absolutely! ;)
Good luck with your QSL. You never know when they might start issuing them again!
