Very good signals here on the east coast on 8974 USB. One station c/s (MIKE) has a whirling siren type sound when he keys up. Anybody know the purpose of this tone?
Rob
-
I thought that was pretty funny. He said "Station identifying your self as MIKE you have a crappy radio and you're interfering with my aircraft" Haha.
-
Lol. I've heard that tone before in other air defense nets in the past. Also the loud feed back squeal is common. Maybe the USN needs to upgrade their HF gear.
-
What the heck are those tones? Sounds like a video game???
-
There was a discussion about that feedback a while back. Sounds like a toy running out of battery power. Just heard some ENC comms alittle while ago.
-
"I authenticate time 18, Delta Yankee." Sounds just like a sky king message.
-
The video game sound is paired with the encrypted signal. Cool sound.lol
-
I was going to sugguested that it was some kind of fleet comm encription by the net control station. I think it's a malfunction. I think they fixed it now.
NVM it's back.
-
Video game sound still in there. I agree must be malfunctioning equipment as its very erratic now.
