Title: XPA 8147 07:00z-07:07z
Post by: Sealord on December 04, 2009, 1146 UTC
Setup my recorder last night & caught another member of the Russian family that uses tones for their messaging:

8147 (setup in USB) 07:00z-07:07z

Audio (complete transmission): https://www.yousendit.com/download/MVNlWmdoSU9EbUlLSkE9PQ

Running the audio through a spectrograph shows the corresponding values of each tone used to correlate to a numeric value for the number groups:

Thank You Sir.

Highly Educational, All of a sudden I have become interested in these
various Digital Modes.

Not quite sure how you were able to assign the correct number to the
corresponding Tone to get the message body; but, whatever works.

Thanks Again.

Hi 4405486 :)

I didn't have to go through each tone for the decode; I just run the audio through the MFSK-20 option on my decoder and it does the rest.  I just have to get the center frequency right for it to work properly (~900 Hz).  The spectrgram image just helps ID the tones for singling out and seeing if it matches up with the current Enigma designation facts.

Ya, I dig these bizarre modes!
