Title: The Bear Net 8090 USB
Post by: 07code04stalker1776 on March 29, 2015, 0425 UTC
Is any one familiar with the bear net on 8090 USB? I intercepted a YL calling what I think was kilo, kilo, kilo, kavor or something of that nature. I'm sure it's not right but just so you get the idea I tried haha. It seems she was a ground station calling a unit called kavor. So kavor answered as an OM and they had a short exchange before going off. I have no recording and it was at 0355z. They were 5 × 8 here in the D.C. area.

Given the frequency, I would think Russian Air Force.

The Tu-95 is commonly referenced as the "Bear" in NATO designation. Russia likes to fly them along the coastlines, right outside territorial waters, of western nations.
