I got this message from MMSSTV this evening. Anyone know what it means?

Your brain is overheating again, Al.
Remember last year, how sticking your head in that owl's burrow helped? Try it again, but use a vacant burrow.
-
I checked with the oracle (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2HUtiY-idF0/TqVcDA4AjhI/AAAAAAAAA3E/BkxuLAtjQMA/s200/Boxxy-Eris-Golden-Apple.jpg). She says the future is uncertain but the end is always near. And get more fiber in your diet.

You're about as funny as screen doors on a submarine.

This is why I value my membership in HFU so much; it is an unending font of radio-related wisdom.

Oh, you mean actual help? Last time I saw indistinct errors on SSTV it was raining rabbits. My PC knowledge ends after "Delete System 32". Seems to fix all Windows problems. :o

Screen doors, huh? That gives me an idea.
Get a hole saw, about 1-1/4 inches will do. Bore into your head around your left ear. Cover the hole with a section of window screen. Now drill out the right ear and install a pc fan into the hole. Power the fan with a 12 volt power supply at home, and the battery from that bag phone you still use, when you're on the road.
Air flows in where your left ear was and out where your right ear cavity now holds the fan. Your overheating problems are solved!

All of this, and yet I still don't know what this error message means.
I did some Googling, and there were suggestions that it had something to do with a buffer overflow, but that sounded like a generic response. I had left MMSSTV running for a few hours before I saw this. It doesn't really matter that much, as restarting the program was all that it took to bring it back up, but I am always intrigued by obscure error messages.
Back in the days of the Arpanet, there was a program that ran on the college PDP-10 that would die with the message "La banda esta borracha", which apparently meant something like "the band is drunk". I don't recall what the program was or what error prompted the message.
There is a Lunix program called "strings"; it uses a heuristic to detect text strings in a file. I think I will run it on MMSSTV.

What message?
???
-
That's why we humor him, Nella.
"La banda esta borracha" can easily mean "The band is crazy". Much like the folks in Echo Park used to shout when Al would drive by in his Hupmobile, "El Fansome es borracho."

I am missing a few protagonist in this video. ;D

"The indistinct error was detected" was the actual error message. It came up in a pop-up "modal" window.
This has caused me several sleepless nights already. I'm just beside myself over it, and I don't know where to turn...

You've got to quit filming the company pool parties, Al.
I didn't think that Oliver Hardy mustache would work for you, but boy, was I wrong!

Where do you think Hitler got the idea?
Emil Maurice?
-
Nah. Oliver Hardy was an international star of one reel comedies before Emil met Adolph.

This is a message issued by The Director of Cosmic Forces only to people of his rank.
