Title: 267 kHz CW "DTVI" 0530 UTC 2 FEB 2017
Post by: flexoman61 on February 02, 2017, 1651 UTC
Clear ID on this Freq. "DTVI", on 1000Hz with a tone between IDs.
I couldn't find any info on this. Anyone have an idea what this is or
where this is from?

This is almost certainly UBY 268 from Bayamo, Cuba.  This is one sick NDB!

The carrier for UBY is generally on 268 +/- a couple of hertz, and does not appear to have modulation offsets.  Instead, it is detected by noting a very strong negative keying in the carrier.  I can see this weakly in my recording from last night, and this is probably what you were hearing last night.

What is heard or seen does appear to have some variability, but just about all interpretations begin with the letter 'D'.

Pedro strikes again!

Thanks jFarly. Thats very interesting, and confusing! I will check for it again tonight. I'll gladly add Cuba to my logs.
