RETRO RECEIVER REVIEW #9 : SELENA VEGA B206
This time, Craig Seager visits a receiver that was popular during the days of the Cold War….and built in the former Soviet Union. I think you will find this a very interesting Retro Receiver Review!

Cool looking radio. Looks solid, like US and Japanese transistor radios were built in the 1950s and 1960's.
Wondering what sort of MW loopstick it has?
At first, was surprised that the FM band is the non-Eastern Bloc one, but then if it was built for export, it isn't so surprising.
I once saw a Sanyo boombox online -- for sale to Eastern Bloc countries, had MW, FM (OIRT), LW and a SW band.
Eastern Bloc radios of the Cold War era were all pretty fascinating.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, it would be fascinating to compare this export model with a Soviet domestic version.

Some of the soviet era transistor portables are really nice looking and reportedly work quite well. Apparently their few consumer goods were allowed a level of elegance, as compared to a T72.
