Title: NDB YLQ 4/17/2017
Post by: flexoman61 on April 18, 2017, 0223 UTC
New one for me.
No big deal but I love to pull beacons out of that noisy DGPS band.

Don't hear that one here.

Yeah, DGPS band is noisy... all of those beeping things.  ;D

Nice grab flexoman.

There are quite a few beacons in the DGPS range.  Having an SDR and recording overnight allows one to find fades in DGPS which can possibly expose an underlying NDB.

I could tell there was a beacon there but had to wait awhile before I could ID it. Good copy on it for a few minutes then gone.

Good catch on YLQ. Sometimes heard here but very elusive.

I find by using the CW filters and by going a couple of KHz either side of the DGPS I can receive resident NDB's on the DGPS frequency, a bit of fiddling but it works! 8)
