Title: USCG Faxes are broken
Post by: ChrisSmolinski on May 05, 2017, 1821 UTC
For the past few days, the USCG stations (Boston, New Orleans, etc) have been sending broken fax transmissions, with horizontal jitter:

Have you tried it on other bcsts to see if it's the setup?

Yes, no issues with faxes from Germany or Australia. Different apps running on different devices all show the problem(s) at exactly the same time.  I'm 99 44/100 % sure it's their fault  ;D

When I saw this kind of thing not too many weeks ago I attributed it to the decoder. When it happened it was a major jump across the screen and settled there for a while, then back to the original, on an otherwise perfect image.

Interesting, so it has been broken for weeks now? Not good for any mariners that rely on it.
