Caught ZN 4070.3Khz at 1200 utc....caught Z 4175 khz at 1145 utc.
I guess I'll name the Z beacons Zebra ...LOL Z is a good catch pretty rare.

May 28 started hearing Z on 4175 khz at 1253 utc...
S3 noise floor on the old R4B receiver...at 1303 some strange local electical noise has now moved up the band
and is sitting right on Z.
ZN occasionally was fading up at 1200 utc but has disappeared by the time Z came into the picture today...

May 29 I got up late started listening at 1200utc no joy on Z,
only caught a few fade ups of ZT at 1205 utc.
Maybe poor condx...I will go up to solarham.net and see whats going on in the ether.

May 29 0350 utc started hearing Z with the rf gain cranked back do to QRN
q4 copy...q3 copy on ZN ...

Am also hearing ZT on 4070 at 0300 utc,

June 3 1200utc...Z and [ZT 4070.3 khz/b] both were peaking at s5
ON THE OLD R4B receiver..noise floor was s3-s4

June 4 at 1200 ZN, Z were solid copy at 1220 utc ZT faded up and ZN disappeared
I checked Z and at 1226 utc and it was still there. All in all I caught three Zebra Beacons once again.

June 6 Time from 1130 utc-1200 ZN was Q4-Q5
At 1200 utc ZT started coming in and ZN seemed to go away.
NO Z...

Am Hearing "ZN" this morning, or night, at 1115 utc on about 4070.400
Also the "A" beacon and Windy as well!

July 30 Time 1240 utc ZN q5 copy very nice signal considered day light out side

Aug 10 1130 utc ZN faded up nicely and competed with the static...

Aug. 11 time 1130 utc ZN was Q3 copy heard maybe 4-5 ids then deep fad outs...
Glad to hear it since Wind no longer being heard...maybe electrical storms took it down.

I had ZN this morning as well as yesterday, as logged in my Sept thread. I haven't heard either of the other two Zebra beacons recently, however.
Tesla: Yes, static levels have been high here as well. DGPS decodes on LW have been dreadful.

Oct 8 1200 utc while dialing up to listen to W I ran across ZN very Q5 on 4101 khz ...
went down to 4070 and NO ZN there and went back to 4101 khz and there ZN was...

Dec 28 Tim 0230 utc on 4070 khz caught ZN with a Q5 signal not strong but every ID copied for
the time I listened.
It must be a very low power beacon because one a few listeners have logged it up on HFU.
Condx must have to be quite right...this winter so far the 80 mtr Ham band has had some pretty strange moments
which is probably normal, perhaps as the winter goes along condx will be more stable...you have to hike HF because of its changing
personality, I know that's why I like it.

Feb 7 Time 1030 utc...4070khz ZN was sure coming in good...looks like it has settled down on its
inital freq. when I first heard it. With condx very long on 4Mc I often hear W at 2200-2300 utc. I'm hoping to catch ZN
in the twilight also but that hasn't happened as of yet.

Have been hearing ZN off and on this morning on about 4097.0. Starting around 1215 utc.
The Y beacon along with Haystack on 4096 are also being heard.

I heard both of them...around 1150 utc...ZN was the stronger of the two beacons.

Caught ZN around 4097 khz at 1122 utc this morning.
I haven't heard Y for a few days now...could be condx have made a shift...

Hearing ZN tonight on about 4103.3, along with Windy!
The Y beacon on 4096 is also being heard so far tonight along with A of course.

I haven't hear Y for days...the second harmonic was a good DX catch and I keep looking for it around 1500 utc...but only heard it once
a dxer down in Tucson heard it the same day and time that I did. See the post relating to Y harmonic...

Caught ZN last night right above the W (windy) beacon, about 4103.3 KHz.
Both ZN and W were about the same signal strength - just above the noise, but good enough to easily ID each of them. Time was 0315Z.

While attempting to hear Y on 4096.5 ZN was coming in solid copy but very weak..no Y heard at all.

Caught ZN on this morning around 11 to 1200 utc with Windy. It was on about 4102. Prop was not very good.

Hearing ZN this evening on about 4103.5.
Along with Windy. A in as well on 2097.
Heard a couple of the 4096 signals the last couple of days but very marginal prop has not been good. Y and Haystack off and on in the middle of the night.
Y also on 8193. Rocky and Rainy along with Hexy2K have been very good so the MUF seems to favor them at the moment

Heard ZN early early this morning on about 4103. with QSB on a noisy band. Even Windy was having a tough time getting threw the noise.

Did a quick listen for W (no joy) but then dialed up a bit and heard ZN - mostly good with a few deep fades. Not strong but holding its own.
Time 0352z.

Many thanks to all the HFUndergrounders who provided great background on the Zebra beacons.
Received the "ZN" beacon this evening as it drifted down from 4103 kHz to 4098.7 before disappearing entirely.
