7200 kHz LSB
7200 LSB
7.2 MHz 7.200 MHz LSB
Starting at around 1845 UTC, several recordings were heard on 7200 LSB, now hearing "Who Are You?" by The Who at 1852 UTC on 7200 kHz LSB. This whole time, there's also been a carrier on 7200.0 kHz.
Another waste of a frequency.
1856 UTC - WD4JID and another ham callsign heard talking over the music, then music went QRT
1857 UTC - music back, carrier on 7200 kHz has been going this whole time (has been on since tune-in)

I recall reading in ancient ham radio books that there used to be some group of official observers that would police the ham bands, and send notices to naughty hams caught doing horrible things, like going 11 minutes between IDs, etc. I assume they are all gone now, based on the current level of infractions on 7200, 14313, and elsewhere.

You might be looking at this the wrong way. Consider 313 and 200 as places for the ignorant to congregate with their fellows, leaving the rest of the bands alone. This is a good thing, if it must exist at all.

The same thing happens here in Australia, they call 40m "The Stonefish Band" and the gentlemens rules and regulations are thrown out of the window.
It has became worse since they "dumbed" down the amateur radio licence (introduction of Foundation Licence) to make it easier for basic entry level operators and thus populate the bands.
40m has became a "Claytons" form of 27MHz CB radio with all sorts of jamming and unruly behaviour taking place.

7200 is the ignorant CB we got lucky baby band. Because in 2008, FCC in US made HF general license so easy, code free, anybody including morons can get a ticket. Loads of stuff there that isn't even fit for CB. But, where I live, the CB band has been swept clean because they now are all on ham bands. :'(
Many of the OO are not really educated in what part 97 actually says. There has never been on HF an FCC guarantee of a interference free clear channel. Indeed, the onus remains on the operators not FCC to resolve interference issues.
That said on 7200 the malicious and intentional interference is clear by carriers, music and not IDing.
That the high hanging fruits of rotten radio FCC finds too time consuming to deal with including persons using other ham ops call signs and recordings to feign intefrence.
Sad, the death of ham radio.. its the final nails. :-\

I know this is old but K9RSY drunk captain Dan still at it. If the NAB paid off the FCCthe way they do for FM things would be different.

Don't be too hasty to blame no code cbers for this mess, miscreants operated HAM radio long before cb existed.

Josh is IMO 100% correct. The issue of drunken hams misbehaving has been around a long time. A recent ARRL thing quoted an article from the 50's about the matter of "language"; also, CB has always been much the same, according to some of my sources it was worse.
A lot of the drunk guys on 80m today can code in morse, I believe some of them are Advanced or Extras. They sample and insult each other par excellence, and this is what we normally hear. Late at night, I've heard some very interesting tech discussions, including what to do with lasers taken out of old DVD players. I personally can feel a moment's contempt for some of the perpetrators, especially those who are only jamming. But perhaps a minute of old school Christian charity would serve me better than the contempt.
Honestly speaking, a lot of these guys IMO suffer from nothing more than alcoholism, of which there is a lot going around lately. They don't know what to do and are crying out for God knows what. I'm not at all PC in this or any other matter. I'm not making excuses for their abuse of the ham bands, pathetic as the abuse usually is. It's just as my Mom used to say, "there but for the grace of God go I", etc., etc.
