Pirate radio or drunk ham broadcast on 1945 kHz. ID as N1BCG but I doubt that.

Heard in N. Maryland

This time of the year in the middle of the converted MW tx band anything is possible. You think they'd go for silent keys call, though.

:o As a former Hammer Radio Op., lots of calls are bootlegged. Lots of interference to nets etc. caused by trolls using calls of stations they want to get trashed by Feds. Ever since the no qualifications license to HF Hammer became effective about 2007-2008 the level of education and ethics has dropped. Sad, its the death of what WAS a decent hobby in the 1960's

One of the best Ham ragchews I ever heard was on 1945 kHz. Two nominal locals yakking in the middle of the night about one having an ATV accident that left him in the hospital for nearly nine months. He mentioned that he'd lost 130 lbs. in the hospital, how good he felt, etc...and the other guy comes back with "How much do you weigh now?" The ATV guy comes back with "Around 290." as serious as he could be. I nearly fell out of my chair with that one.

I've often wondered how many of the guy's friends were listening and how much crap he caught from the ones that had never met him in the flesh?
