Heard from the Caribbean region. Very faint chatter so exact frequency is hard to tell. Seems to be in Spanish.

8195 kHz to 8815 kHz is the 8 MHz HF marine band so you likely were hearing fishing fleet communications. 8273 kHz is one of the ITU HF-SSB marine mobile 8 MHz band channels (technically a duplex channel, 8273 kHz is supposed to be paired with 8797 kHz but chances are they were just using it as a simplex channel as fishermen tend to do). That, or they just picked a frequency and used it (as they also often tend to do!)
