Post by: mark-n-nut on June 27, 2018, 0224 UTC
Over the last week or so here is what I have been hearing here.  If you follow the prop indicators it has been tough, though it has helped 6 meters!!

A on 2097 always there at night
Hiker on 4096 +/-
H on 4100  ""New""
W(indy) on 4102.7
Y on 5644  Maybe, need to keep listening
Rocky and Rainy on 6626.1  +/-
Hexy2k on 6700.4
Marin Ditter on 8193.5 +/- ya gotta be listening when it pops in, then gone
D on 8200.0 ""New""
Hiker on 7998 +/-

I probably need to listen for the Hifers as well but been busy busy.

Here is an Argo of H on 4100

Looks like something has changed here.  Can't find the buttons to insert a pic as before.

Nice list of the beacons heard there, Mark.

Indeed, I have not heard MarinDit in ages owing to lack of F-layer short skip in these low MUF times to the CA desert, though maybe Summer some e-skip brings it in when I'm not listening (i.e. the better-heard 8192.75 kHz second harmonic).  I have actually heard its fund. here and in Darwin, CA only 4 times in the past few years.  MarinDit is deliberately a weakie at about 10 mW max., being just a 2N2222 Colpits type osc. keyed by a 555 chip to a somewhat too-short end-fed enamel wire in an attic - since 2000! Glad you are hearing it Mark where the skip is longer. MB

Am hearing a ditter on 6940.6 0030 utc.  Don't remember hearing this one here.  Was looking for Pirates and heard it.
