Title: UK Peskies 5744 KHz 2105 UTC 25 July 2018
Post by: KaySeeks on July 25, 2018, 2109 UTC
Roundtable conversation of three or four ops in English with UK accents. Complaining about the "fucking Spaniards" and the "fucking Frenchies" fishing in certain areas. Complaining about Filipino crew members and anybody else. Typical salty sailor language.

Data station opened up nearby, totally obliterating them.

Nice catch, reminds me of the cranky Gloucester fishermen I would hear on 43 meters (haven't heard them in a while).  I'll have to try for these guys or others in the winter when conditions are more favorable.

There used to be some shrimpers down in Florida that hung out on 6925 of all places, but they have not been heard in years.

I've heard the Gloucestermen on 6953 USB and 6959 USB before, once I heard them talking about heroin in Boston specifically...so yes, typical salty sailor language.

Re: the OP, 5744 kHz lies within the 5730 kHz to 5900 kHz (some sources say 5730 kHz to 5900 kHz) fixed/mobile band, which, just like 6765 kHz to 7000 kHz means basically everything you can think of band.  In other words, a perfect place for your out-of-the-legal-marine-bands fishing fleet chat channel.
