Title: UNID 1715 kHz USB 0130 UTC 7 Dec 2018
Post by: Kilokat7 on December 07, 2018, 0132 UTC
MW peskies???  While monitoring 1710, I'm catching some UNID comms on 1715 USB, extremely faint even with the 20 db preamp switched in.  Language is tentatively Spanish, but it's very weak and difficult to make out.  Because it's on my South antenna, I can safely rule out any Trans-Atlantic coastal maritime stations.  Have our South American friends ever heard such communications before in this segment of the band (1710-1800 kHz)?  0142 UTC now and it seems to be gone.

I didn't hear these, but I can report that the two Latin American pirates on 43m came in very well last night. So there could have been some sort of an opening.
