Little Richard refers to the "Blue Book" obliquely in his song "Good Golly, Miss Molly" when he refers to her "Rockin' an' rollin' at the house of blue lights".

Leadbelly recorded a version of "House of The Rising Sun" in the late 1920's that would have scared Eric Burdon so bad he'd have pissed down his leg.
