Title: 6501 USB Meteo
Post by: Josh on December 13, 2018, 2326 UTC
6501 USB Meteo 2324Z 13DEC18

Very strong here, typically distorted robo weatherman.

How badly is it distorted? You can see it clearly with the low def fish finder on the 756 Pro 2. In other words, pretty bad.

So who was it Josh?  NMO Chesapeake VA, NMO Honolulu HI or NOJ Kodiak AK? They are the ones I hear on a regular basis in the evening. 8)

NMO out of Chesapeake, VA is a real flamethrower and seems to be a little overmodulated every time I listen to it on 6501 kHz USB.  On SDR waterfall displays you can often see splatter down to 6501 LSB and on modulation peaks it seems to break past the 3 kHz channelization and get into 6504 kHz.

Next time I'll listen long enough to find out who is the guilty party, didn't want to listen any longer as it droned on.
