The 6200-7000 kHz range is loaded with Spanish and Portuguese speaking signals, some of them following the 3 kHz steps within the 6200 kHz to 6525 kHz marine band, others using a CB-like 5 kHz channelling and others just making it up as they go along.  The lower part of the range (roughly 6200-6500 kHz) is popular with fishing fleets in the Americas.  With good propagation to Europe that's what you could have been hearing.  They'll also pop up all over the 43 meter band (6765 kHz to 7000 kHz) and the 6 MHz aeronautical band (6525 kHz to 6765 kHz), sometimes causing interference to legal air-to-ground or air traffic control communications.

That, or you were hearing traffic out of Europe.   There's so much chatter on these bands that its hard to tell for sure.  Thanks for the log!
