Title: NEW AM 1710 0130 UTC 25 JAN 2019
Post by: tvallred on January 26, 2019, 0328 UTC
Hey everyone,  since it's the weekend and many of us are enjoying the airwaves I want to give you a heads up for a new station on 1710 testing tonight in the southeastern US. Transmitter arrived today and is broadcasting from a 137' wire antenna and a MFJ tuner. Format is mostly 70's and 80's country with jingles from a legendary country music station which once dominated the nighttime airwaves back in the 70's... feel free to let me know if any of you are able to dx the station from your QTH and what the call letters are...

tvallred, I heard some country mx popping up on occasion above taterpatchradio.com and the TIS mix around 6 pm EST this evening, but taterpatch is keeping you (if that's you) at bay for the most part here.

Thanks for the update.  I'm on air all night tonight so as the skywave conditions vary I may have some luck.

You and taterpatch taking turns dominating the frequency.  You were dominant @ 0240 with a country tune, nice bass in the audio.  Taterpatch is booming in now @ 0244.

LOL! I used to drive around in my truck with a ham stick antenna to check my modulation away from the tx site. Glad to see driving around still works.

I'll give 1710 a try later on tonight.

Have fun with your station.
