0125 Good signal here.
0133 signal now pretty poor. :(
0146 been listening on the KPH kiwi SDR on the coast of California. Good signal there.
0157 signal has come up well at KPH. :)
0206 back to my own rx, signal has improved to fair quality here, still some noise that it needs to overcome but hopefully it will do so.
0350 X-FM still going strong, signal has become poor to fair again here in Denver. Still fair strength but much clearer at KPH kiwi SDR.
0435 Redhat on the mic. Nice tuneage, sir.
Funny story about the band 999... My best friend was riding the bus with a friend of his back in the early 80s. He's wearing his 999 shirt. This is when the Satanic Panic was happening, so naturally someone on the bus asks if that shirt is 666 upside down. No, he answers, it's 999 right side up. Said with full "what kind of stupid question was that" attitude.
0500 I'm hanging them up for the night. Thanks for the show Mr. Redhat.

Tuned in at 0128utc, poor sig fading in and out, QRM from one of the many buzzy carriers from a neighbor's old plasma TV, barely heard X-FM ID, at 0153 signal improved slightly but still poor. Was still on with increasingly weaker sig when I turned off the set at 0355.

0135 Just tuned in. Comming in with a 10 to 15 dB signal with some noise on the fades.
Good to hear you again Redhat on the air.
0300 I also like the female singers in your tracks tonight Redhat.

Bummer man, X-FM is 25 kHz wide, but my widest filter setting in AM is only 20 kHz. ;)
A tad over S9 here in the Mojave Desert of California.
(edit) I agree X-FM, Plasma TV is hard to beat for smooth color saturation and color contrast. I love my Plasma in the library. But, because I have so many radios on all the time I seldom turn it on. I have LCDs in the living room for everyone else to use.

X-FM, 0127. Opening sequence with somewhat atmospheric music with announcements of upcoming X-FM broadcast into series of movie cuts into 1st song, 0139 Redhat with ID, correct TC and talk with a program of music of favorites from the last couple of years, commenting on antenna and transmitter work and hoping it will hold up.
S6 - S7. Good here.

Fair signal, but I have a lot of local noise down here. Maybe I should DF all of the plasma TVs in the neighborhood. A modern, sorta-ethereal rock song & one of the regular pro-sounding X-FM promos. I'm having problems being able to hear Redhat's talk--only copyable when the carrier flattens the local noise.
I think Redhat just mentioned that one listener "is intrigued but a little nervous" about tuning in to the station :)
-

here is a bit of useful information for everyone here at HFU that may have trouble hearing their favorite hi-fi broadcaster on their own receiver.
this link will display all Kiwi SDR's that support high fidelity audio reception at 20Khz bandwidth (10Khz audio).
https://sdr.hu/?q=20+kHz
because AM does not have to sound like "AM".
i hope that this helps :)
-
Thanks! Sounds *much* better on the northern Nevada receiver than at my own QTH at 0512 UTC
-
Thanks for great show. FFFR and 73's

Finally was able to pick this one up last night. Guess I'm never on at the correct times
Nothing here in NTX, so I SDR'd it. Disappointed I found it so late, good show. Look forward to listening again.
Thanks!
